On Monday, the Ministry of Finance in South Sudan opened the first national economic conference, which will last for five days and conclude on September 8. The conference aims to chart a new economic path with a focus on enhancing agricultural productivity as a means of reducing dependence on oil revenues. Addressing the opening ceremony in Juba, James Wani Igga, Vice President for Economic Affairs, affirmed the government’s commitment to promoting growth in non-oil sectors.
